$HubIsFull

Technical discussion about the NMDC and ADC protocol. The NMDC protocol is documented in the Wiki, so feel free to refer to it.

$HubIsFull

Post by Ganntrader » 2006-09-19 07:51

Hi

I am writing my own client and have scanned many hubs.
I thought that if a hub is full it will send $HubIsFull but non of the hubs that were full did that.

Why is there such a kommand as $HubIsFull when almost any hub is using it?

Because the protocol is reverse-engineered and horribly thought out. Why not develop for ADC instead?

Hi

But that a hub don't send $HubIsFull, when full, can't be the protocols fault.

As i understand it it must be an error of them who programmed the hubsoftware and didn't send $HubIsFull when the hub is full.

There are no laws that say the hub must send $HubIsFull, and therefore some hubs probably don't find it necessary. There is no protocol, there are only guesses.

But there are guesses and educated guesses. ;))
Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.
