list of "hash-less" clients and stuff
yes, it's my first post.
this is probably a real easy thing but i am making my own hub for a 2500+lan use and later on a online version.
but finding basic stuff like a list of DC++ clients that do not use hashes and anti-kiddieporn search filter words is proven very difficult.
i need lists of stuff like that so i can make a decent "crap" free hub.
can you ppl help me out?
ps: i'm using ynhub, iv tried plotax, but i like yn more. and i dont like bots...

finding a up to date client that doesn't hash is impossible as all clients since version 0.401 use hashing.

yes i have found the search filter in ynhub, righ now it is only a blank space, i am looking for a list of "standard" words to filter.
and in ynhub you can also refuse users on their DC++ version. and i want to ban out all non hashers, but for that i need a list of pre 401 clients.
and my searches for those lists have come up zip.
so if someone can post their lists,would be VERY welcome.

You have to ban each client build individually? With ptokax you can easily ban all pre 400 clients with ease.
I reckon i've got my hub as clean as possible when excluding human moderation. I also don't think I would have been able to acheive the same level with ynhub. But ynhub is better for bigger hubs I hear. But bigger hubs are impersonal so sod 'em

but in ynhub i miss some thins i took for granted in plotax, ie. the mainchat screen.

i'm not sure checking only the version would be good enough, remember DC++ is open-source...
you could check with some DC++ mod made for OPs, which can warn you if the user doesn't have enough hashed files for instance.

pll with "hacked" clients are indeed very hard to stop, but i.e revconnect enables faster downloading, something that is quite handy in an already stressed 2500+ network, so the faster the the downloading the faster everyone will be done. it does stress te server al lot more, but since the hub is connected to the core (a wopper: HP ProCurve 5308m ) with a gbit fiber link, that won't be a big issue , getting the users that use hashless clients because they are to lazy to hash before the go on a lanparty and only share a gig or 2 are a problem. i have seen it on every lan i went to, 1000 ppl are "fair" leetchers and 250 are "cronic" leetchers with 10 gigs of useless shares and stuffing their 500 gig disks full and they are gone. thats what i want to limit to a certain extent. because those 250 ppl are using 80% of the networks capacity and the other 1000 are bitching about poor speeds.
i know this sounds fammiliar to a lot of ppl here and i "respectfully" request all the help you can give me to put an end to the reign of the cronic l33tch3rs on lanparty's.

use an opclient to search for useless files and let it kick those people out...
or use several opclients divided over some people you trust
this all means that you have to learn about ADL search and raw hub commands.
i'll have a look if i can find a simple howto for these things..
be patient and look here often
