Only possible thing i can think off which maybe ? cause this. The deleteInstances() in dcplusplus.cpp are not in an exact inverse of the newInstances(). Maybe relevant / related ?Bug 759 wrote:I have also noticed that when I close down DC++, there is still an entry in the task manager, which I have to close manually, although this still doesn't let the PC close down normally.

Glad to hear, this was one of my biggest headaches with DC++.Big Muscle wrote:no, this bugs seems to be fixed in CVS and it's due to blocking socket operations which caused hanging when client on the other side deadlocked.

Dont understand the replies, since I am not a programmer, but just want to let you know that I suffer from this problem, and have had to stop using the software as Im worried that closing the program this way with active connections could damage my disk drives!
Is there a solution to it???
Dan.

Im using the latest DC++ version, but still have the same problem. The program doesnt terminate (although appears to have shut down - ie no longer in the system tray) but still appears in the Task Manager, usually with memory usage of about 50k, and doesnt sever active connections to other users, since pings to gaming servers remain high (noticed through xfire). Terminating from Task Manager sorts this, but im still worried that it is damaging!
