New Hashing feature?

Post by ArKangeL » 2004-11-27 09:49

Hi All

I try the new release of DC++ and i see the new 'politics' about hashing files before sharing, but, can you put on any windows of DC++ program a little control about progress of hashing files. I know that the control line ( the line at the bottom of the main window ) make something like this, but i request a litle control with a progress bar, that you can see every time you open the DC++.

Its very anoying that when you start your DC++ the HD starts work but you never know when it ends.

Well for other things, its a very cool program.

Thx all

P.D: Sorry for my english

Hi

Yes but, 'Indexing Progress' lock the main windows of the DC++, im asking about a little progress bar in the control line, then, you can see the indexing progress and do another thing at the same time.

Thx all

I agree. It would be nice if the "indexing progress" dialog would be modeless (as it is in fulDC).

The idea is that having that dialog up sets the hashing thread priority to normal instead of idle. Using the computer when it's like that might make it very laggy and cause people to complain.

But if that particular dialog was modeless, and all other things unchanged, the only difference would be that you could actually be able to use the program while it’s hashing effectively. And if someone thinks it slows down their computer, all they have to do would be to press the “Run in background button. Just a thought…
