A way for DC++ to rank download speeds in different users and pick everytime
the HIGHEST available to download a said file. You have a file in your download queue,
you hit find alternates and get a list, DC++ starts downloading file lists.
My suggestion is that it records the transfer speeds WITH the file lists and then picks the highest to download the file.
I am doing this manually right now, auto would be nice
Suggestions.

What this doen't take into account for is users with no slots available. IF they don't have a slot for a list, you get one through minislots, so the speed you get is not going to be the actual speed you could get when you actually get a slot. Also doesn't take into account the fact that file lists sometimes have bursts of speed when you download them. This would throw any sort of averaging way off and make it completely redundant.

There are too many of these small features that would be a nightmare to integrate graphically, and are completely useless if multisource comes along.PseudonympH wrote:It seems to me that most of these download management features people want will become irrelevant once multisource comes along.
(That means I agree)
