explorer.exe

Post by [BBB]NeoMtx » 2004-03-14 09:38

What to do if having problems with explorer.exe?
When a window popup and says "explorer.exe encountered problems and will be turned off" or something like that.
I don't have to format the entire disk, right?

No. An application (in this case explorer.exe) has crashed. It happens. It's not the end of the world. Once you OK the box it should restart itself.

But if you get it repeated times (onece or twice is nothing to worry about ) there's something that not is as it sould be as explorer.exe is the graphical interface for windows and the first step then would be to run an virusscan.

If Explorer.exe crashes, and does so frequently, it's a sign that your copy of Windows is sick. You can try registry cleanup tools, XP's System Restore, or any number of things. Some of them are way beyond the scope of this forum, which is intended to help you with DC++.

I can second that. Gotta love a shell that lets you configure pretty much everything.
