having serihelp muchous connection refused problems

hi guys, i have this problems and searched , cant help much thou.


i have this DC Hub V1.0 and running with the ip from no-ip.com

i can access the hub thru my own comp ( running comp and hub together)

but when my friends try to access into the hub , they have a

"connection refused by target machine" problem

i tried various ports from 80 to 8000 and its still the same.

My guess would be that you're behind eight an firewall or router, probably the latter. To get the hub to work under this condtion you must forward the port you use fo the hub in the router to the computer running it, only tcp is neccesary for hubs I think.
Edit: Using port 80 is probably not an goosd idea as it's used for normal web traffic.

i dmz my router and by right it should not block any ports right ?


i also disabled firewall and its still the same

Right. Now you have exposed yourself to the Internet, which defeats the point of having a router to begin with.

What firewall are/were you using?

Although this guide talks about port forwarding for DC++, it also applies to setting up a hub. Follow it and then see if your friends can access your computer. I would also put the computer behind the router again.
