Compressed and safe transfers

Post by Big Muscle » 2004-02-11 11:53

When this feature will be repaired ??? Now if I enable it, download stops at 96-99% and file isn't finished.

This should be a very good feature, if it works well.

Repaired? It seems to work fine for most people.. Please provide more information about your system and circumstances to help track down the problem, if there is a bug.

If I download some file, downloading stops at 99.4% and file isn't finished. My friend has the same problem. This appears only if compressed transfers are enabled.

I have WinXP Pro and DC++ 0.306. I noticed that more people have this problem.

Uploads work well.

I also have this problem when it's enabled. I'm running Windows 2000 (logged in as a power-user, not admin) and I have version .306. If you need more info just say so :)

If so, there's more to it than that, as the files I download are usually under that size and complete without incident.

There's an additional change in 0.307, which is moving out the test phase and enabling compressed transfers as $GetZBlock (instead of $GetTestZBlock), that may fix this problem and convince the uploading side that the file is complete. I was able to reproduce the hang on my home lan, but haven't had the foresight to check if this bug was fixed. I'll let you know.

It checks the checksum for each block it downloads, which should mean the file is transfered correctly from the person, it also can occasionally compress data down so that you get it faster, however I'm guessing its going to be a bit different with 0.307 and the new hashing
