List of hub software

Post by Dc man » 2003-11-17 10:46

Somebody now? Which hub is the best?

[EDIT: No Hub advertising! However, this thread has a useful list of hub software, so I've changed the thread title and made it sticky. TheParanoidOne]

there is a no hubs advertising policy on this forum.
beside what's "best" is matter of tastes.

Perhaps, especially if he's not a native speaker. He could have confused "with more users" with "can take the most users"...

FYI, I think Nev would prefer that people (who had the closed-beta of ASH) migrate to YHub and let it fade out of view.

Hub software usage stats for the top four apps as of Feb 22, 2004:

YoshiHub
Hubs: 1786
Users: 260777
Avg. users/hub: 146.0

PtokaX
Hubs: 1561
Users: 99034
Avg. users/hub: 63.44

The original NMDC Hub has dropped dramatically in usage over the last year as both Yoshi and PtokaX have been steadily developing and improving and is now down to 226 hubs as of the most recent update.

Open DC Hub gained a few hubs and is now up to 211.

Most important
1. get some hub software ie; ynhub, verlhi hub etc. verlhi does not run on windows.
2. make sure your ip does not change if it does go to http://no-ip.com they will fix that.
3.Open ports on your router or firewall if you have one. go to http://portforward.com to learn more.
4. run your hub.

If anyone has any questions pleae email me @ [email protected] I was a newbie before and people helped me so dont be shy!
