MaZaKa98:
The problem with doing this is that it is yet another string list I would have to create and do stuff with (including saving and loading).
This is a feature that is "nice to have", but which really should be implemented in DC++ (so that I would not have to patch it to the latest version all the time).
This feature will have to be coded by someone else, I'm afraid, as I am a little "burnt out" by DC++k at the moment.

cyberal & R200:
(stupid question time from me)
You do have the "Show share checked users" feature enabled?

A fix for the crash bug is rebuilding as I type this.
The reason I didn't detect this was that I built the previous version without access to the 'net (running a DC Hub for 2 clients on my own computer).
It "Worked On My Computer (tm)"! :)

v0.251055981k

Post by sarf » 2003-07-07 07:21

Changelog:

Code: Select all

 -- 0.251055981k --
* Fixed some crash bugs in the hub window
thanks to R200 for reporting this!
* ML Donkey is impossible to remove from the user list
or so it seems - sorry everyone
* KNOWN BUG - DC++k will not always disconnect from checked users as it
should - this is a KNOWN BUG
* My ISP is going up and down like a jojo
   gaaaaaaaaah!
I give up. I can't force DC++ to remove the ML Donkey entries. Perhaps all that is needed is a refresh or something, but I can't even delete the ML Donkey entries using very low level functions. The options to remove the donkey clients are still there, but they give very little effect. Suggested action is fix the problem in the hubsoft (which may be that ML Donkey clients do not exude $Quit or something) or just create a huge IP list so we can erase and DESTROY all evil ML Donkey clients.

If anyone have any suggestions on how to do this (WITH C++ example code that WORKS), please mail me about it.

<sigh>

Well, at least it doesn't crash any more.

aaah, what a stupid question ;)
yes, I have it enabled!
When the whole hub has been checked (900 users), maybe 20 has the green C.

about this MLdonkey problem, we have no problems with MLdonkey in our hub which is a 100 GB hub, maybe MLdonkey always share 11 GB? aah, anyways... I have however noticed other users getting stuck now and then, don't really bother me BUT I can't do a "refresh filelist" since that will trigger "check new users" on EVERYONE! ... THAT however is kinda irritating.. not an important problem anyhow.. k does it's job!! :)

Could it be possible adding in the “adl Search for forbidden files the ability to have in it, for any file which we entered there, the possibility to define %[cheatingdescription] for it? Like it could be added a new tab “Description and when a user were caught with that file, the %[cheatingdescription] would be that parameter.

Keep up the great work,

Yes same here. It freezes all the time.

Finished download messages don't seem to disappear and the userlist is not updated after a kick. :(

After re-opening it about 20 times today now my hubs are *** Unknown address.

[PT]Devilishly:
No, that is not possible since the share checker does not know anything about the ADL Search other than the fact that it puts files in the <<<Forbiddiden Files>>> directory.

Checking into PM = CPU freeze. Probably due to how I did the Ignore PM thingies.

Nope, refresh userlist is patched. If it is not patched, then ALL information about users will be lost upon refreshing. People thought that was undesirable. Thus my solution.

Checking into these errors.

Changelog :

Code: Select all

 -- 0.251055982k --
* Removed debugging info
   thanks clint_moin
* Removed some code from the ML Donkey thing that could affect the user
list - other than this, there is not much I can do
* Removed the PM changes I made earlier
   thanks everyone that reported this!
* Hopefully works OK, otherwise use a working DC++k at this address :
   http://www.fukt.bth.se/~k/dcpp/working/
* KNOWN BUG - forbidden files might not always be - reason unknown -
for me to fix this I need two things - the filelist and the ADL
Search parameters you used - mail them to me
There. This should help a bit. If not, then...
WHAT I TELL YOU THREE TIMES IS TRUE! WHAT I TELL YOU THREE TIMES IS TRUE! WHAT I TELL YOU THREE TIMES IS TRUE!

Mail your suggestions/bug reports to me. I receive a mail for every PM you send me anyhow, so it might as well be accessible to me while my 'net connection goes up and down (as it has for the last 24 hours).

Sorry to be an arse about this, but I do not want this thread to be cluttered up with bug reports that are more or less useful. While I do appreciate the psychological effect of posting about your problems and getting them fixed (sooner or later :) ), I get stressed out when I see eight messages all detailing the same problem (essentially).

Last versions of DC++k don't update properly the userlist after a user has leaved the hub, can you fix it?.
Another way to fake will go to you by mail this night so you can add a feature to DC++k, the solution seems to be easy, if you make some code for this one, it would be nice that you send the code to theduck, perhaps he can include the patch in DC++, i discover this one by casuality

You can use the mirror site I host to find this latest version, because Sarf seems to have still problems with his ISP. Hope tomorrow it will be ok.

Note 1: don't use the PDB files, it's for 0.251055982 version.
Note 2: Just check in my profile to find URL (or see sarf's site).

yeah but the feature is called Dirty user refresh and its supposed to refresh the userlist from mldonkey/hublist pingers etc (i think) .. if its an ani cheat feature shouldnt it be called Anti cheat ? And if it is anti cheat .. then it doesnt work cuz im not cheating (wouldnt be so fair to the cheaters i ban daily .. now would it) .. im not sharing but that has an different reason (RIAA, MediaForce etc) .. and i tested it while sharing and it still sends those messages. Yes anti cheat is nice .. but does it has to spam the OPs .. it send out 50 messages in maybe 2 minutes

The anti fake is not related to the "Dirty user refresh" (or rather, it should not be).

Due to the old settings bug, you might have activated fakesharing without being aware of it (yes, fakesharing is present in DC++k, but as you can see, it is reported).

Oops. It was a bug in the dirty user refresh (it was not present in the SettingsManager.cpp, thus making DC++k wonky).

Oh well.

I updated the version available online.

well, if there is an "anti-cheat" feature in DC++k it probably shouldn't be visible at all, maybe sarf accidently changed someting poking around in the code.. ?

btw, this kinda thing skould be implemented in DC++, the client cheat-checks itself =) neat!

Because it is hard to check for specific ways to fakeshare without being able to test it myself (currently doing some testing with the "same directory over and over again"-cheat).

Doing a new version now that does not go wacko on the userlist.

I hope I get it done before deadline (leaving my home for a few days), but otherways, go to the working DC++k client directory :

   it should not matter
thanks to NipponPippon for reporting this

Idea for next version...

Since this client is ment to detect the fakers/lamers, why isn't there a option for kicking the people that DC++k identifies as a DC++ client but not tag?

[2003-06-09 18:20] <xAyiDe> fusbar I can tell u one thing for sure now. I talked to a person that will make my CDM detect something very good. And that makes it so the source cant ever be released. I will never say to anyone what he toled. This guy really know the stuff..
[2003-06-09 18:23] <[sunet]sandos> well, thats very helpful of you

[2003-06-09 18:23] <[sunet]sandos> =)
[2003-06-09 18:26] <xAyiDe> Sandos. what good will it do if code is exposed?
[2003-06-09 18:27] <xAyiDe> Anyhow the whole except for the detection will be released.
[2003-06-09 18:35] <fusbar> xayide: well, you would break GPL ;))
[2003-06-09 18:35] <fusbar> if you release it..

well, honestly I agree with xAyiDe, a CDM should be released without source code to make it last as long as possible. Nothing good can come out of exposing the ways to detect different clients. That will just make it easier for them to adapt. Not that they won't do it anyway, but hopefully it will take a little longer. :)

or atleast that neat nick search feature it has..
I just have to agree with that, tho I realise it would mean a lot of work... oDC has some really nice features, and an oDCk would be very wonderful! Also, I would like to see more columns in the userlist: PK, Lock, Share-size-in-Bytes... PK and Lock can ofcourse only be seen after a handshake has been made.

PS. Take a vacation man... it's summer! Take a week or two off, relax :)

why abnormal program termination?

The picture says it all...

I get it all the time when trying to run the latest DC++k. I do have the proper PDB file and dbghelp.dll in the same directory. Any ideas what can be done to fix so it properly crashes and generates an exception.txt file? Running on Win2K+SP4

As for forbidden files: explorer.scf, cmd.com, windows\explorer.exe, winnt\explorer.exe, VTS_01_0.VOB, ntuser.dat

forbidden files: valve.avi (HL/CS), esoclientdll.dll (AoM), .eml (emails... could contain Nimda), *.antifrag (incomplete downloads), __INCOMPLETE__* (guess what... incomplete downloads =))

Why not having in the search, as exists the possibility to search for “File type, also the ability to search by user, with those parameters “nick, “tag, “email and “Shared size???

Go to Imperialnet and visit the forums of DC++k.

Oh, and a new version has crept out from the woodwork :

Code: Select all

 -- 0.251055985k --
* Fixed the "disconnect when finding several files" bug
thanks to clint_moin for the hint I needed!
* KNOWN BUG:
the user list does not seem to work for some people
this is next on my bug list
I, however, do not have this problem
Hope it works for you.

This is a nice tool too: DC++ (client type detection mod) 0.181
http://utenti.lycos.it/dctrivio/downloa ... n_Mod].zip
It would be nice to have those features implemented in DC++k.

What about these commands and features:
http://hem.passagen.se/sarf/dcpp/howto/stealth.html
http://hem.passagen.se/sarf/dcpp/howto/emulate.html
http://hem.passagen.se/sarf/dcpp/oldfeatures.html
Why aren't those commands and functions available anymore?

Those features will come if sarf merges k with xAyiDe's dc++mod (as you can read above).

Those features belongs in the old dc++k, this new one is an entirely different project, without any cheater features!
