dc++ better than kazaa except for one feature (u guessed it)

Post by altanhaider » 2003-05-28 18:28

MULTI SOURCE DOWNLOADING. thats the only update im waiting for. my bandwidth holds upto 150kb per second but not once hav i downloaded anything faster than 80kb, and 80kb was just once, the usual speed is 10-40kb. multi source would REALLY help us with broadband (im switching to 3mb per second but i dont think thats gona change anything for me in dc except the upload.)

ps: for those of u who dont know wat multi source is, its wat u CAN do in kazaa and with getright, its downloading sections of the same file from multiple users simultaneously, combining their speeds.
Nothing is real. Real is nothing.

There are modified DC++ clients that do this.

Also, this is not the first time this feature has been suggested. Please Search for it and you will see threads detailsing the pros and cons of the feature. If after reading them, you still have suggestions, you can add it to one of those threads.

Multisource downloading sucks, it will be very hard to find free slots when every download is taking 3-10 slots

This has been discussed before, no need to start a new thread.

You can post in the original one, and read this one, that other one, and finaly the one named Multistreaming.
