I myself use the original hub version, but only because of the antiquated scripts I use. I'd say the original hub is much easier to find and write scripts for, but it leaks memory like crazy. (it's using 35MB RAM, 144MB Virtual currently)
Both should work fine.
For your IP address, put in your IP address or the DNS you use as I did. I think this shows up in the title bar of the connection window in the client with the hub's name.

# NeoModus Direct Connect Hub 1.091 - This is the original hub software developed by Jon Hess back in 2001. Extensions are written in vbscript. Win95 - WinXP
# NeoModus Direct Connect Hub 2.0 - Latest hub software from Mr. Hess written in a combo of C++, C# and .NET in 2003. Extensions are plugins. Win2K/XP/2K3.

Silva,
If you want to run a hub you have other choices beyond the Neo-Modus.
The v1.025 hubsoft is all but dead now and the v2.0 requires some programming ability to write plug-ins.
This thread has a long list of other hubsofts that are available.
Y-Hub, PtokaX, SDCH and X-Hub are the most commonly used for Windows.
OpenDCHub and Verlihub are commonly used for Linux.
