Help with NM public list
I know that u guys seem to like the other public lists, but how long does it take for a hub to show up in the NM list.
my hub has been up for almost a week now and hasnt shown up in any of the lists i have checked.
For ref the hub name is DcUk.
once again thanks in advance.

the neomodus hub pinger doesn't log on properly
it sends a ValidateNick and after that proceeds with sending a GetNickList
the original nmdch accepts this behaviour, but PtokaX and DCH++ (and I suspect a lot of other hubs) don't.
so (assuming that you don't use nmdch) either you need a script that replies with a nice nicklist for just that bot, or you could accept that you're not on the neomodus list, and use dreamland.gotdns.org instead.

correction:
PtokaX does accept this behaviour
(and a lot of PtokaX hubs are on the neomodus list)

It doesn't make any difference whether you allow [Sunet]Pinger in or not. In fact, my hub spends more time on the NM public list when I nameban it. But, the fact is, your chances of being on the public list at any one time are about 1 in 8 or so, because it rotates randomly. I personally find this extremely annoying. The list also has a tendency to freeze for 3 days at a time, which is cool if you happen to be on it, but crap if you're not.
The other choice is to get the hacked NMDC hub that registers with the Dreamland list.
Either way, good luck with getting on the list... you'll need it....

[Sunet]Pinger has nothing to do with the nmdc list whatsoever, it adds hub to the dreamland list.FLiXD wrote:It doesn't make any difference whether you allow [Sunet]Pinger in or not. NM list used to communicates directly with hub...my hub registered before with-out ever having anyone come in...But now I'm not sure...I do know the reg string that used to work from an altered hub won't work now so it is very possible Jon went to a bot to block fake hubs...one other fact...if you try running a fake hub your real hub will also be booted from public even if it is a diff no-ip or other dns addy...it drops all hubs on that IP
