Hey, I've created a hub with a dynamic IP and all. I'm trying to make this a private hub for my school's students, only I don't want to set up a seperate account for each IP address. Is there any way I can restrict IP addresses coming in so they are only a part of my school's LAN, or can I create one general account for everybody to log on as? I am using Direct Connect Hub.
Thanks a lot,
Rob McLaren

You've got two options...
1) Use a firewall and only allow your schools IP ranges in. (best method)
2) Use a script that only allows your schools IP ranges in. (bad method)
Where can I download scripts?

How do you start a firewall? Find one and install it first....Sygate, Kerio, Norton, etc. Configure it so it blocks access to the hub from all external IPs that are not in your school/dorm.
Running a script is a bad idea because the outsiders must establish a connection with the hub first, and then get denied. this puts extra stress on your hubsoft/computer/connection. Blocking them with a firewall prevents them from ever talking to the hubsoft.
For a script that can currently block IPs...look at the Where can I download script link.
