Running 2 Hubs

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

Running 2 Hubs

Post by joeyboy » 2004-02-01 18:01

hello all.
tnx for the chance to get help.

i`ve got problems tryin to run 2 seperate hubs, setup thru no-ip group account.
hub 1 is set thru my netgear router on port range 3400-3500 and which the
users can connect fine.
hub 2 is on 5000-5100 but only i can connect to it.(probably thru my local ip)
I have 2 sessions of server running PtokaX DC software.

any clues to sort this out please ?

thanks a lot

1) A hub only needs one port to be forwarded for each instance running.
2) Each hub needs its own port to operate on. Sure you've got ptokax setup to use seperate ports?

hi BSOD2600
tnx.

1)oh right so it doesnt need a port range, only a single port each.
2)yeah i`ve got each session running their own addresses and ports in Ptokax.
I realise this is not Ptokax help forum but i`m not sure about the multihub options to set. and if this makes a diff.

i changed my local ip in the router settings of 2nd hub to match the 1st.
ie. 192.168.0.4 and it kicked all the users out of hub 1. then hub 2 could connect fine.
Probably my problem lies in the router.

so it doesnt need a port range, only a single port each
use same port as the range like
start= 1411 end=1411
i changed my local ip in the router settings of 2nd hub to match the 1st.
ie. 192.168.0.4 and it kicked all the users out of hub 1. then hub 2 could connect fine.
Probably my problem lies in the router.
for 2 hubs you will need 2 forwards entries in your router, 4 if you can't specify both TCP and UDP at once.
the forward entries must match the IP:port of puter running each hub
(IP of puter runing the hub):(port use by the hub at that IP)

note: same DNS addy can be use for both hubs, changing the port at the end of the addy, users will connect to one or the other.
