Problems With Running Hub´s...

Post by Spot » 2003-12-24 00:09

Hi! I Have general problems with running hub´s or a hub (1)..

I have tryed Ptokax,DC Hub v1.x v2.0 and now im running YHub..

I cant understand why i always get that "Connection Reset By Server"..

Someone can tell me that?

I dont know exactly how to run a hub, but i have tryed many times, and will not give up the try..

I hope i just have filled in something wrong and that will fix it, but dont think so..

In Advance ThX!

THen you can try to connect to it from another computer behindtherouter using the local ip of the hub computer.

Are you on the same lan as the hub? If so, I don't think you can connect to it using the external ip.

I run a hub with some freinds, not local, i have a no-ip adress i use, and i connect via DC++ with my own extern IP
proper terms are not "i run a hub" in that case.
it should be "i admin a hub".

can you be clearer?
on witch side do you have problems, server side or with your client ?

I know think it was because of a wrong IP in my client.. I have used my External IP 212.242.255.93 and port 412 and know i changed it for 127.0.0.1 and it seem to be better..

It was the client i have problems with.. I maked Connection Reset By Server.. Thougth it was because of something in the hub..

Sorry i forgot some info´s, im admin on the hub, and we are 4 on the hub..

I hope i stop with the Connection Reset By Server now..

Could it be a socket error? YHub says that it have 5 socket errors?

What is a socket error?

In Advance Thx!

then you won't be able to dl or search.

it still to diagnose if its a client or hub problems, meabe both.
Connection Reset By Server can be cause by a lots of things.

socket error might a software bug or internet data flow problems(line noise, internet hop problems, etc...)

Try to join the hub.. spotten.no-ip.org

I have 2 IP´s Extern and Intern, i use 212.242.255.93 then i can browse files, BUT then i makes the Connection Reset By Server somethimes..

If i use the 127.0.0.1 (In the client) then i cant see file list´s and ppl cant see mine..

Plz tell me what i do wrong..

I HAVE forwarded port 412 and 411 on my router..

i don't share enough to do that.

that what i was saying.

try passive.
if you don't get the connection reset, then, it a hub's bug.
i don't remember if Yhub is doing any kinds of IPs check.
I HAVE forwarded port 412 and 411 on my router..
411 is the hub's port, no need to forward it if the hub is not running on your puter.
if you have a router only forward 412 TCP and UDP to the puter running DC.
if you don't have a router and was talking about your firewall then the right words is "open port(s)".

Hi! I run the hub on my own PC, and i connecte via the same machine.. :0)

I have a Router AND a Firewall, and the port is forwarded on the router and the Firewall have been told to make acces on that program to the internet! :0)

I have tryed passive! Then i cant connect others in passive (Not smart when hub admin) I have to be in active to use it like i want to, i must try to see if it makes error with my extern IP, if it do, i try passive and see if it still dos it!

Thx! I hope it will work now! :0)

whitch is truth ?
please give the correct infos, or correct them as soon as possible.

if you run on same machine use external IP in DC active settings and 127.0.0.1 or puter internal IP (192.168.x.x) to connect to the hub.
if this still give you problems get a hub fix.
Btw! The YHub have IP chek, i have filled in my range to my account! So that should be ok! :0)
that is not what i had in minds...
is there a feature that check if user have set there DC active settings correctly(bloc passive users)
