Hublist lying?

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

Hublist lying?

Post by rjerina » 2003-11-26 00:16

I double click to connect to a hub that says it has >2000 people connected, but then i connect, and there's only like 60-180 people on them. i tried changing hub lists and they wont work for me (i am trying the stable ones!), i have the newest version of DC++ as well.

Do you see a message saying that you are being redirected because that hub is full?

Yes, hubs that fake usercounts on the public lists are a problem, but that has nothing to do with DC++.

no redirects, and it is every hub i connect to, how is that not a DC++ problem then?

you did not notice it untill yesterday.

DC++ only retrive a list of hubs from the hublist server, data in this list is not change in anyway by DC++.

no i always look at the amount of people when i connect, because it effects the total data shared. i dont join a hub if only like 20tb is shared.

anyway this is cause by hub owner registering false info and hublist server not checking for hubs infos fakers or hublist server screwing the data.

if you didnt saw this problem before, you might have change your previous hublist server for an other one that is not filtering out fakers.
or the hublist filters are not working for the moment.
