Problems Running A Hub/Connecting With DC++

Post by NecroGrim » 2003-07-06 03:07

Ok, so this is the scenario. I d/led Ptokax DC Hub software. I got it running right away. I got a redirect addy from no-ip.org and connected to the hub from my other computer, which is on a separate internet connection. That works fine. My problem is that I can't connect to my hub from the computer I'm using to run the hub. I've tried active and passive, using same and different port numbers to connect DC++ and Ptokax, and double checked things I know are necessary for hubs and clients to connect. I keep getting "Connection refused by target machine" messages when I try to connect to my hub via DC++ while running Ptokax. I've got the username and password set and pretty much all the simple stuff seems in place, I'm hoping it's just something simple I've overlooked that's causing this problem. What do I need to do to connect to my own hub via DC++ whilst running my hub with Ptokax on the same computer?

Are you trying to connect to the hub via the internal IP address or the external one?

I'm connecting via external IP. I got myself a no-ip.org address since typing that last post. Still no luck. Time for sleep.

Oh, I saw the 127.0.0.1:411 post a little late. Anyway, that returns the same result. :?

Ooops. The 127.0.0.1 suggestion worked. I just forgot to put the appropriate port #. I don't use the default port. Thanks! :D
