New PublicHubList from the makers of MoGLO

Post by mo » 2003-04-28 18:44

Both aDe and myself have put out loads of hard work to provide you with the following links…

Full List:
http://web16.denver010.server4free.de/h ... ormat=.bz2

Country Code Limited List:
http://web16.denver010.server4free.de/h ... ormat=.bz2

What’s special about these hublists?
1) We have replaced the user count field, with a hub rating. The hub rating is calculated by all of the data provided by the MoGLO search client.
(this allows you to quickly find the hubs that offer the best stuff on the net)
2) We have added the country code of each hub to the beginning of the hub description. (this allows you to sort the hublist by country code)
3) You can limit the hublist by country code. (The two examples above will only return hubs from Italy and Denmark)
4) Both lists are compressed in .bz2 format for faster download
5) All hubs are checked hourly for online status

Enjoy…

Great work!

And hey, if you ever run out of bandwidth, Ill gladly host them for you. My only probem being (unfortunately) cpu, so I dont know if Im capable to host .php scripts being accessed too much.

Thanks alot for the offer sandos, I imagine that your server would only need a simple script to get the latest pre-generated hublist file and mirror it. We'll see how the bandwidth use is.

One thing I forgot to mention...
We have a real time page that allows you to view the top X number of hubs as ranked by MoGLO.

http://www.moglo.net/league.asp

Just a little free advertising for those hubs that are generous enough to open themselves up to us :)

Pretty slick list ya got there....

For whatever reason, it seems the description for my hub in your list is compleatly wrong. I've checked it 3x today and it hasnt changed, but my rating has. Sids hub list shows it correct....Also, I dunno if its a DC++ bug, but for some reason all hubs are prefixed 3x with the country. What gives?

Something odd is happening, all descr looks this way now:

[SE][SE][SE][SE][50GB][DC++ : Max 3 Hubs: 2 Slots/Hub][Fenix]'

Maybe one of the hublists you feed from are taking descriptions from you, and youre adding [SE] to a desrc. which already contains it. :)

Well, we did some changes last night to the pinger and php scripts, because sometimes the pinger might not be able to retreive a hub's description every round, thus removing the description from the server.. So the description is sent to the pinger if there is one, and we simply forgot about not sending the countrycode to an existing desc, or something like that, I'll have to check when I get home =)
