Issue with hosting hub & using dc++ from same ip

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

Issue with hosting hub & using dc++ from same ip

Post by djay666 » 2006-10-07 09:32

I've just taken over hosting duties for a hub but have a problem when I connect to it.

Because my dc++ client is set to active for my external ip I get the error message "Your direct connect client has supplied an invalid IP address in a connection request" due to the fact I connect to my own hub from my internal ip. So I can't search or download from my own hub

I'm probably overlooking something simple but not sure what. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: btw, I just get connection refused if I try and connect to actual hub address.

ps: If this thread should've been opened in general support then you have my apologies.

What hub software are you using? Somewhere in it will be an option to ignore the IP check for certain nicks and/or IP addresses. Add yourself there.

Oh sorry! Thought I'd included that info but missed it out. I use YnHub. I've tried the YnHub forum but that appears to be no longer working.

I've used both the 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.0.XX to connect to the hub but both give the invalid ip error due to having the client setup for active on the external ip

Didn't find a setting for individual users but there was one in the general security section for Check sender IP on sear/ConnectToMe. Have unchecked that option and can now search out the bad guys in my hub. Thanks for the pointer.

Yap, their hoster obviously had some troubles. They should be back soon.
Nope, you are really, really the only and very first one who is having this problem. For no reason take a look at the FAQ on this page prior to asking. "FAQ" means "Frequently Asked Questions" but your problem is completely new!

No problem. It can be set for a particular class of users in YnHub. Settings > Users > Profiles -> choose the one you belong to (owner?). Under the Overrides tab there is a checkbox for IP check on search/connect.

Yep, that's much better. Much obliged to you.
