I'm interested in setting up a private hub on a home connection (which I will also be sharing on) for about 5-20 users. The upload on the home connection will be 768 kbps.
I see the hardware requirements state: "Minimum, you need 128 kbps upload dedicated to a hub...You can safely host 100 - 200 users with any hub software on a dedicated 128 kbps upload." So, would it be safe to assume that since my hub will be catering to a much smaller amount of users, the upload on my home connection will be sufficient?
Thanks in advance.

lol
you can also choose any hubsoft you like cause bandwidth usage is absolutely no issue here ^^
try:
http://www.dcdev.net/YnHub/?page=download
for a simple out of the box hubsoft
or
http://www.ptokax.org/downloads.html
for a little bit more advanced but still very nice hubsoft, plus it supports scripting

You can send a message around the world in 1/7 of a second; yet it may take several years to move a simple idea through a 1/4 inch of human skull.
Oh, I'm afraid I misunderstood the hardware requirements. I guess the 128 kbps in the requirements were kilobits per second, not kilobytes. Whoops.
Just so I have an idea, how many people could a hub on a 768 kbps and a 2 Mbps connection support?
