problem with internal dc hub

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

problem with internal dc hub

Post by docent » 2005-11-26 21:53

Hi, greetings from a totally niewbie form Poland. First at all - sorry for my english :D

I live in a student's campus and we have NAT. I wat to run internal DC hub (no need to go outside), so far I have installed YhHub. Evetything seems to be working, some of my friends have logged in. But we can't get our filelists. I've disabled my firewall (Kerio 4) but nothing happened. I just don't know what to do. I am not a computer specialist :), can anybody tell me what is happening and what to do?

Is this NAT a problem? We connect thru non-routable local IP (10.10.*) so this should not affect DC connection. I know what "active mode" is, should everybody set this in their DC-s?

Your english is better than most native speakers.

Everyone will need to be using active mode and they should use their local IP address (10.x) in DC++ settings. Leave the port boxes blank.

In Ynhub, Users -> Profiles -> Overides -> disable IP check on search/connect for all profiles.

Technically it depends on the network hardware doing the NATing as to whether or not they can use the same client for public hubs and yours, so you'll have to test that.

YnHub should also listen on a local IP.

Xan1977 -Thank you.

bastya_elvtars - YnHub should also listen on a local IP- does it mean that hub adress should be 10.10.x.x or what? Now everything works but maybe I don't know something?

Maybe it listens on the local IP anyway. Don't know, but behind a NAT your hub is likely to be unreachable from outside. :)
