Easy way to create a hub for an upcoming LAN party?

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

Easy way to create a hub for an upcoming LAN party?

Post by HaveFun » 2005-10-12 13:08

Hello!

I'm arranging a medium LAN-Party in a few weeks, and want to avoid the slow windows-folder-sharing.

I dont know much about DC, never installed a DC-Server; so i'm looking for a good and simple to install and config DC-Server-Software.

What's the easiest way to create a DC-Server/Hub ?

Thanks.

YnHub or maybe Ptokax are your best bet. You won't be able to handle several thousand users like Verlihub could, but I doubt that will be much of a problem.

correct ... it only has to help 50 people in a LAN to share some files :)

Well, IIRC YnHub has been clocked at atleast 14 000 users or so, so that's not entirely true ;)
