Hi, I wanted to create a hub but I don't know if I have the correct speed, I have cable 512 Kbits. (60 kb download , 16 kb upload).
Will my download speed suffer because of the hub?
If I wanted to dload some files from another user of the hub, will me download speed be fine or will be slower?
Internet connection speed required for creating a hub?

With 16kbit/s upload you can hold about 280-300 people maximum. Until you hit about 140-160 users, you won't notice any drag on your badwidth. After that you can give up on downloading/uploading anything quickly. If you're smart about it, you'll cap the hub to a reasonable number, like 250, and keep the upload speed capped at 11kbits/s. Then you should be able to leech normally.
note: this estimation will vary depending on hubsoft, ratio of passive to active users, scripts or plugins, sustainable line speed, and how many trojans are on your PC.

The math formula we more or less use to estimate is, (Number of users/20)*(Number of users / 20) kbits. It was brought to our attention by verliba and works fairly well in estimating. The point is to realise that its O(N^2).
Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.
