unban?

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

unban?

Post by wild » 2004-08-31 17:35

I used the raw command:
"$Kick %[nick]|"
to "kick" someone from my hub... it is my understanding that this actually bans someone for a while (using neomodus 1.0 to host the hub)... is there an equivelent "unban" command I can use to remove this ban? Also, can anyone tell me how long this person will be banned for?

Thanks

You're right, a kick is a temp ban, usually lasting for 10 minutes (but that can be changed in most hubsofts).

Unbanning is also specific to each hubsoft, so read the help file.

In searching for an answer to this question I found and downloaded Gadgets GeneralBot, and have been testing it out... So far so good, and it is helping me manage bans and whatnot better than I was - but, my hub now seems to be listed on some sort of public list, as I am getting unknown visitors. I would like to remain a "private" hub, is there a specific line of the script I can remove, or a setting I haven't seen that I can change in the script, that will tell it not to advertise me? It's possible this is unrelated to the installation of the script, but I don't recall changing anything else. Thanks for any thoughts on this,

I know this isn't a "GeneralBot support forum" but I figure it won't do any harm to ask another question about it, since it is a script... If I have a substantial number of "VIP" users, is there a file I can backup in case I ever need to restore their accounts? Maybe this info is somehow stored in the .script file itself? Thanks for any answers.

The easy way to find out which file would be to grep for their nicks/passwords.
