Right Ip-Adress for dc++ hub on lan ?

Which hub software is the best? Where can I find script XXX? Discuss it here...(no, this is not for advertising your hub...)

Right Ip-Adress for dc++ hub on lan ?

Post by Cedric » 2004-08-05 10:56

Hello , I just set up a dc++ hub for using it on a lanparty . As Hub-software i'm using Yhub Beta 0.387 . I have a router that allows wireless connections , i'm not using an firewall for the wireless internet connection or lan-connection. My ip-adres of the lan-connection is 192.168.1.13 , on this computer the hub is running. I entered that ip-adress in the Register Tab of the hub. Now when i try to connect to the hub on my other computer , both connected tot a router , it says HOST UNREACHABLE

What do i have to do ?

You don't need to do that - the registration tab is only to submit your IP address to one of the public hubs.

What is the IP address and netmask of each computer? How are they connected - is it the same router, or just two routers somewhere?

Well , it's connected to the same router , but do you advice another dc++hub software , something with an easier interface , the first one got the ip-adress : 192.168.1.13 ( the hub is running on this one ) , second one 192.168.0.1 , the router's ip-adress is 192.168.1.100 .

I bet the netmask on your second PC is 255.255.255.0. That means that it has no idea how to get from 192.168.0.* to 192.168.1.*.

It probably has a static IP mapping for the network card in the control panel - switch it to DCHP.

Yhub is the "friendliest" software out there for casual hub admins. You won't find anything much simpler.
