How do i create a hub? (split from sticky)

I just want to know, whats the first thing you have to do to create a hub? I'm kinda new to this all...so if anyone could clear it up for me, would appreciate it.

1. Download hub software.
2. Install and run hub software.
3. (Optional) Register hub with hublists.

yoshihub is the easiest and best i found
get it here http://dcdev.net/yhub/downloads/yhub387t10.zip

Depends on which os you are running it it on, how much system resources you want to wast it on and if you need scripting or not,
