Remote Admin Protocol

Technical discussion about the NMDC and ADC protocol. The NMDC protocol is documented in the Wiki, so feel free to refer to it.

Remote Admin Protocol

Post by thePoet » 2004-03-11 13:49

Does DC++ support a remote monitoring and/or administration protocol? We've had users of our server monitoring and administration tools request that we support DC++, but I haven't found the type of information I would need to connect to a server for strictly remote monitoring/admin purposes.

Thanks for your help,

There is no remote admin features in dc++ itself. However alot of the hub software have some form of remote admin using telnet on some ports.

DC++, as a P2P client, doesn't currently have any remote administration capabilities. A couple modified clients have web based administration of sorts (which I have not tried). You probably are looking for ways to monitor Direct Connect hubs/servers, as Twink mentioned.

One of the forum regulars maintains this FAQ entry listing most DC hubs (remote administration is not among his listed features, however):

I hope it's of use to you.
