Registered Users ($MyPass)
I've looked at the protocol specification on a few sites (obviously none official). I can't figure it out. Can $MyPass be used by registered users who have only registered their nick, or can it only be used by Ops?

Well?
After that the client has sent "$ValidateNick <nickname>|", the hub might respond with "$GetPass|" and expect the client to send its password with "$MyPass <password>|". So yes, this is done by all clients using "passwords". If the user is only a registered user and not OP, then skip sending "$LogedIn". Anyway, the link below will explain it to you.

Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.

You skip the $LogedIn! That's it. The problem i was having, was that it would always activate the Op menu. When i original read the protocol specs, i knew it seemed like it could be done, but after trying it i wasn't sure.
Thanks. This helped.
And no, i havn't seen that linked site before either. *bookmarks*
