Rambus Ram Question

Im puting together a new computer and was wondering if i want to get ECC or NonECC rambus ram ???

Depends on your motherboard but if you're building it yourself then I'd go for the non-ecc.
Non-ecc rambus is far more common.
Ecc is mostly for servers and special motherboards.

ECC = error correcting code if I remember things correctly...my guess is that there's about 10% extra memory on that chip that guards against errors...and therefore more expensive...most machines can probably do without is my guess...

I like stability, I personally would go for ecc (if your motherboard supports it)

But remember its more expensive and slows your ram slightly(going through an extra process and all)

Or you could even hold out until the new rambus(1200mhz) comes out, but again you'll have to buy a motherboard that supports that.

Rambus has said the new stuff will be released soon but soon for a company may mean months. :evil:
