Heavy computer problem!!!

Post by joakim_tosteberg » 2003-10-21 08:02

I´m having a big problem with a computer right now, about 10 seconds after it have loaded the agp440.dll (or was it .sys? ) driver does it reboot even if I tries to use a pci graphics gard. I´ve also tried to reinstall windows but with no succes, the it have come that long in the setup that it begins to search for previous versions of microspft windows do I get this error message (unimportant things scaled of)

Code: Select all

REGISTY_ERROR
*** STOP: 0x00000051 (0x00000003, 0x00000003, 0xE10F3000 )
I´ve tried to search at google bu no succes  . Anyone having some idea? How to fix it or atleast where the problem is.

How to Troubleshoot a "STOP 0x00000051 REGISTRY ERROR" Error Message

Safe mode I sont suppse works either. Could try using either ERD 2003 and removing the agp driver from the registry. Or do the same thing by slaving the hd to another computer.

I think I managed to solve the problem, looks like it was a combination of an registry error and microsofts DAMN  error handling  . Had to reformat the harddrive by putting it in another computer bacause of that then the instalation found the corrupted registry it just hang and gave me a bluescreen. This is what i call bad error handling. I´ve not tested to reintall the drive yet this will have to wait until later today then I get time for it.

i rarely saw windows repairing itself when reinstalling it over itself.
it's not a repairs tool.
corrupted program files will be replace, but not their configs files(in most cases).

installing windows over windows is a waste of time, my 2 cents.
if you can't solve the problem by deleting, editing, replacing, the corrupted file/s, then do a fresh(format) install and save time.

That was why I had to move it to another computer, the intallcd didn't get long enought in the installation to be able to format the drive. The bluescreen came before that.
