Well i'm just glad that i've got a few exabytes left on my very large FTP site then

How people find these out is beyond me..

Aparently it takes 200,000 Joints to kill a mouse, how the hell did they work that out?? Did a few scientists with a very large block of dope sit around rolling up and say "Today i'm going to smoke as many joints as i can, to see how many will kill a mouse"?? I think after about the 10th or 11th, the mouse couldn't give a shit as long as it had cheese and a music to listen to!!

So I see you found some info on NTFS then. :)
Care to give us a link?

So, are you going to go ahead with the conversion?

 Oh. This one :)

What I want to be sure about, is that other computers in my LAN will have access to my Win XP comp after switching to NTFS. Other comps use: Win 95 and Win ME.
Also: if I copy some stuff to CD / 1,44 will it be saved as FAT volume?

Over a LAN? Yes, as long as you set up the share properly and give appropriate permissions.

On the same machine (dual boot)? No. Win 9x cannot read local NTFS partitions.

CDs use a different file system and will be readable by all. Floppy disks under Windows (all) uses FAT12 which is readable by all incarnations of Windows.

No, I don't want to install other system on my precious computer. I tried to install Linux, and Windows XP once... :x :x <-- that was hell
... I know, probably some stupid linux version.

More Qs:
- how do I format my disk using NTFS? Normally I use Segate floppy (delivered with HDD) to format disk... but I don't think it have NTFS support. Can I just make WinXP boot floppy, with format.com, and format c:\ to NTFS? Then how do I make multiple partitions? <--- that is stupid question, and I'm asking it only because I don't know what to ask for :D , so You don't have to answer. When I'll have some more NTFS related problem I'll put them here.

Thanks

There are programs that will convert a partition to NTFS from FAT. I would recommend the command CONVERT (available in Windows 2000 and above, I think) - just use "CONVERT drive: /fs:ntfs" and you are done.

If you wish to use non-Microsoft programs (or do not have Windows 2000) then I would recommend you to evaluate or buy Partition Magic which is a tool that is over-kill for what you want to do, but which will do what you need (dunno if it can be run on Win 9x, though  ).

PartitionMagic runs in DOS, Win9x and WinNT/2k/XP, but it really is overkill.

As for NTFS under Win9x/ME: SysInternals have some tools for that (though AFAIK the free version only supports reading of NTFS volumes)
