Hublist Program

Post by JoinX » 2006-11-13 14:11

Okay, the thing is.. as you might have noticed we (the Dreamland Network), has been having some trouble with our list latenly, fakehubs, hubs not being able to register.. so basicly we need a new hublist-program.
We've acctually been needing a new one for quite a long time now, but noone of us has gotten our thumbs out of our asses and really has been searching for one untill now ;)

The reason to why I'm posting here is that he who wrote our listsoft hasnt been seen for ages, and theres noone else in our crew that can write a program.

So my question is, does anyone know where I can find , or search for, a new program? Or find anyone who can update our current, or program a new one ?

a little more info might be a great help for instance:
what was language was it written in? php? java? visual basic? C++? etc... and do you have the source code? that is important because having the source code means you wont need to start from scratch, you can just edit the code where needed and make big improvements to the whole thing.
its a bit like saying can you fix my car with out saying whats wrong with it and what car it is :) the more info you give the more chance you will have of being helped :)

Sandos, right? If the source isn't public, perhaps he can supply it to you.

Whatever program you need is probably pretty specific to your infrastructure - I imagine the registration package does some sort of sanity check and then inserts an entry into your hubs-to-crawl table... But there are millions of ways of accomplishing that. It's best to get the source to what you have and ask for someone to modify that.

Yes its Sandos who has writrten our current program. And yes, he probably has a source code.

Hmm.. well ive got no idea if what your saying is correct, but it probably is :) I will ask anyone of the few of us who knows as soon as i see any of them.

The source is/was public, only my hdd semi-crashed with the latest source and I forgot to rescue it. :(

I've said before that I might just code something entirely new, but that is even more unlikely now that I have a full-time job + 3 hour commute every day, and that I barely have time/energy to even use DC++, nor run a hub.

Also, I'm now a jabber fan, so I've been thinking about jabber+filesharing a la ADC ;)
