From an ISP with 4 megas of download to an IS with 20 megas

Post by R.J.G.C.B. » 2006-10-14 20:34

Hello,

This my first post in these forums, so be kind :)

What I want to know is:

My actual ISP has 4 megas of download speed and 256 of upload; if I go to an ISP with 20 megas of download speed and 400 of upload, will I notice much difference in download speed in dc++?

How about in emule and torrents?

Will I be able to download more? In dc++? Emule? Torrents?

What you say?

P.S. Forgive my English, I am Portuguese

In DC++ it is unlikely that it will make much difference, but certainly a higher download cap will mean the possibility is there :). For the other applications, in which your upload rate affects how fast you can download, there is a greater chance that switching to the new ISP and increasing your upload bandwidth will make a noticeable difference.

if he encounters for instance me when i'm at school it certainly would make a difference he could get like 2 MB/s then.... so it just depends on the sources you find/have
