I run Windows XP on my desktop computer but I have a firewall that also serves as a disk server, I run Debian GNU/Linux on it with Samba 3.0.4 to share the disk space. It works perfectly except I get this warning sometimes when I use DC++, not with ANY other program
I use the samba shares a lot with no trouble at all, and I repeat, DC++ is the only program that causes these errors.
This has happened with DC++ 0.401 but also with earlier version.
Any clues? Am I alone to have this problem?

This is NOT a DC++ problem, its windows and/or your hardware.

I ran memtest86 on my Linux server, it turns out I had a few random errors on one DDR DIMM so I replaced it. Everything seems fine and dandy now. The scary part is that the SMB errors were the only sign of problems.
It's fixed now!

It's been almost two months and this used to happen on a daily basis, I'd say I found and cured the problem. The network cards were actually the first thing I checked, I work with ethernet switches and routers now and then so I'm quite good at tracking down network problems, I ruled that out before I even posted about my issue.
Thanks for the tip anyway, I think other people can appreciate the pointers.
