More information on finished downloads

Post by ryu2999 » 2004-02-12 12:08

Just a simple one but would it be possible to have more information on the finished downloads??
Specifically it would be nice to show the root folder of the file you have downloaded so if you are just taking samples from a large number of folders it is simple to see exactly where they have come from.
Especially if a lot of files have similar names 01,02 etc.
Regards

So instead of looking like:
2004-02-09 17:32: F:\My Music\Temp\Dune - History\dune_frontcover.jpg downloaded from Shalnark, 121467 (121467), 25.15 kB/s, 0:00:04

It would look like:
2004-02-09 17:32: F:\My Music\Temp\Dune - History\dune_frontcover.jpg downloaded from Shalnark\music\techno\dune\, 121467 (121467), 25.15 kB/s, 0:00:04

???

Showing the remote location won't do you that much good, because often people change what and where they share stuff.

I must be missing an option somewhere then.
Mine only tells me the path of the file onto my hard disk.
Is there a tab I need to select?
I am running the latest version.

My download logging option looks like:

Code: Select all

%Y-%m-%d %H:%M: %[target] downloaded from %[user], %[size] (%[chunksize]), %[speed], %[time]

I think you are misunderstanding what BSOD2600 is saying. He is giving an example of what it would look like.

I agree with his assessment that there wouldn't be much point in keeping that particular piece of information.

I would like a folder view in the downloaded files, make it just like the download queue

also a feature would be nice to select which files you want to show, like "only files from last 24 hours", "only mp3 files", etc

does that mean you dont ever want it to be cleared? so that when dc++ restarts it readds old files from the logs?

Yes, maybe a "clear" button, or in the options "clear items older than x days"

Americans are in a minority on this board, and in this thread. =) BSOD2600 is the only American I see, though I don't know about Wisp or ryu2999.
