SUGGESTION: select search for audio every time!!!!!!
Hiya all...
....me again...cant ya all tell i am a dc++ user who has never signed up but now i am signed up i got lots to say hehe
But anyways, i reckon there should be an option in DC++ so every time you open a search box you can have it set to search automatically for 'audi' 'video ' archive' etc etc,
Also the same option for searching so that when you open the search box the 'only users with free slots' is already checked
theese would save a bit of time when doin seearches
yours hopefully

Actually, this suggestion has some merit to it, but in a more generic way. DC++ should perhaps remember all settings you apply to individual windows and restore them as appropriate.
Despite the comments about "one whole checkbox" and "a drop-down menu", there are in fact seven sections of the search window alone that you may wish to change. If you regularly search for similar things across sessions that take advantage of a number of these, then it would certainly be a benefit to have them "remembered".

I simply have different search windows open for different purposes. As for remembering settings, I close windows to clear those setting and start from scratch.
If you think it's tedious applying all of those settings, imagine how tedious it would be changing them all back (because they were "remembered")

Hehe.
mmm... to this opinion:TheParanoidOne wrote:To which opinion?mai9 wrote:truly agree
but know I read:Twink wrote:So yeah a way of remembering old values would be helpful.
I suppose yet-another-advanced-setting for remembering or not would satisfy ourselvesjbyrd wrote:If you think it's tedious applying all of those settings, imagine how tedious it would be changing them all back (because they were "remembered")

"wow" some of you guys can be mean, (by the way [uu.nl]Konijntjepluis there aint no 'H' in wipe pmsl, do you just check out the 'features' forum just so you can diss any suggestions :@)
but anyway the kinda option im after is one so that in the settings you have an option which says
'always search for users with free slots'
the reason is that whenever i turn my pc on, load up dc++ open a search box i always have to tick the 'users with free slots' box, would be nice if it was ticked for me already.
Its not that its summat that bothers me big time it would just be nice to have it checked for me!
Also i more often search for files of 'video' type, so as above would be nice if i didnt have to select 'video' each time!
so in settings summat like:
'always search for files of video type'
'always search for files of audio type'
'always search for files of executable type'
'always search for files of any type'
with a checkbox and you select one of them!
Ah well i guess this is another 10 mins of my life i just wasted as this will be one that gets chucked into the 'shit suggestions' pile
Ah well see ya all later
And cheers to anyone i have downloaded stuff off

its better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you havn't done.
So when you are gonna do stuff think to yourself...'will i regret it if i dont do this'
hehe
