Auto-Remove User From Que on slow downloads

Post by Smirnof100 » 2003-11-16 22:56

Heres how my feature would work (if i were doing it).
Each item in the download que would have a check box net to it (we don't wanna apply this to all files because there are some out there that are rare with only 1 or 2 people who have it) to turn this feature on for each file. How it works? well if your downloading a popular file from person A: and person A is giving you a transfer speed of say... 354 bytes a second (average) then every 5 minutes or so the files with the boxes checked would be scanned for download speed and if the speed is below the desired speed for that download (entered next to the check box.. i forgot :) then dc++ could automatically remove that user from que for that file and try someone else... I think it would be great for large but popular files cause i cant think of how many times i have walked in to check my download and 3 of them are going at 300 bytes a second on a stable connection and its gonna take 21321 hours to finish... Thats my feature request for the day.

Give me some feedback or questions, or drop me a line... Thx

Duplicate.

[ 669593 ] Download from the best, change when below a certain speed

That's from the RFE (request for enhancement) tracker.

Some people aren't. Just thought I would point it out.
