RAR..?

Post by TeNkA » 2003-10-04 13:12

There is 2 thing's am missing,,... When download a rar-archive. it ends up in "Download queue" In that map, there is several files.. now there is only possible to "search for alternates" if 1 file is marked!!!... if there is about 30 files it's kind of booring, to mark and search 4 each file!!.. so if a developer could change this, so it's also is possible to mark all file togheter and then make the search???...

2nd,, is i would relly like to set my downloads slots also, not only uploads.

Tha answer to your first question is NO, this will not be implemented. This have been discussed over and over. The main reason why this not will be implemented is that it will overload the hubs with all search request. Check the automatically search for alternates box instead and it will aoutomatic serach for alternaet for the files in your queue which don´t have any users online.

2: You can do this, under settings->downloads is ther somting called "Maximum simultaneous downloads (0=infinite)" Here do you specify how many "things" you can download at the same time.

I'm pretty sure of of the mods of dc++ does this (not sure which one thou sorry), however it searches for filename.r and leaves the number off, and uses at most search, so it in theory should return the whole rar set in one search.

TeNkA> yeah, that sounds kinda boring... but you don't have to do that.. I have a very simple solution to your rar problems.. you are just not using all the neat DC++ features! This is how I do it:

1. find the release and queue it up
2. do "search for alternates" on ONE of the rar-files
3. download the filelists of the ppl that have the file
4. do "match queue" in the file list (bottom right corner)
5. you now have new sources for all your rar files!
