change icons of users

Post by xpertix » 2003-07-22 03:45

is it possible to have neo-modus Dc icons for the connections
because it's very difficult to see the difference between users

I get that, but why?
I think the DC++ icons are much better than the ones in NMDC!

dc++ readme wrote: 5 What do those Icons mean ??
-----------------------------
green = normal Icon
blue = DC++ user (identified on 1st direct connection to this user)
with bricks = User is in passive mode
with key = User is an Operator
I'm a bit rusty on nmdc, so could you please explain what the nmdc icons are that you'd like to see?

i looked at the nmdc website, but all it says is
nmdc website wrote:Q: What do the different icons that are next to user's names mean?
A: Those icons denote the type of connection the user has to the Internet.

Well, I don't think the purpose of dc++ is to replicate NMDC. I think it would just do you some good to get used to both programs, or simply stop using NMDC!

Well, I'm pretty sure Jon Hess (NMDC author) owns the copyrights to those icons, or should. DC++ can't just steal them from him.

Argh! I can't barely understand this!!

Personally, I prefer the ones in czdc (similar to nmdc adding a blue dot to other dc++ users).

I am pretty sure those icons come from windows. at least the dial-up one (I found it in INETCPL.CPL).

I recall some toolbar icons from windows aswell. I am missing something?

I don't think including windows icons in a GPLed program is that smart either. ;)
