finding more sources for more than one file

Post by chot » 2003-05-31 18:55

lets say i download a album, now searching for more sources for each and every file takes some time. it would be great if you could create some way of searching all these at the same time.

btw, great job, keep it up!

Select "Automatically Search for Alternates" in Settings and DC++ will systematically search for each one in regular intervals - IIRC, one minute.

Searching all at the same time would most likely get you kicked/banned from the hub as it is search spam.

As I said above, every one minute as far as I can remember. Any faster than that and you would most likely be kicked for search spamming.

Try it yourself. Start a search and then click on search multiple times. You should receive a message in the hub window about search spam.

ok, but still, this multiple search thing doesn't need to do it all at once, it's not to hard to put a delay into it :) just so that ppl wont have to sitt there themself clicking and clicking.. se what i mean?

Have you been following what I have said? There is a delay. Of about a minute.

All you need to do it make sure a tickbox in Settings is ticked, and it will do what you are asking for.

I try to make my responses as clear and unambiguous as possible but it seems you are not understanding what I am saying. If you point out what parts of my posts you do not understand, I will be happy to clarify them.

Isn't this a rehash of an earlier post, except that person wanted to right click on a folder in the queue and have DC++ space out searches, automatically, for all the files in that folder? I think it was pointed out that oDC had this feature, and if so, Opera needs to contribute it to DC++ himself for everyone to get this functionality.
