Web interface

Post by tsala » 2003-05-21 04:24

It would be great to have the possibility to access at least basic functions via a web interface. I suppose this could be done by adding some kind of API to the DC++ client, and the actual web interface could be written by someone else in php etc.

No, I was not thinking of a new client, but a way of controlling the existing DC++ client over the internet via a web browser. That way I could search for files and start downloads from anywhere, all I would need was internet access and a web browser. I could also let friends with only a dial-up connection use my client for their large downloads.

... why stop at a web interface...

if it was done correctly - you could control it entirely from another machine using something other than a web browser...

basically, each window command (of importance) could be sent to another client...

just an idea...

*ducks*

Good idea... control your PC Anywhere kind of like a Virtual Network Computer.

That would be very cool.... ;)

I'm sure there's a subtle message in there somewhere. Give me a minute. I'll find it eventually.
