"Civilized exit" - wait for users. Shutdown PC on

Post by ejocys » 2003-05-06 19:36

In DC++ is "civilized exit" problem: on exit all connected users are disconnecting by force with unfinished files. It is annoying then big 5% of movie unfinished and is no alternatives (mirrors).

Solution:

Can you make "warning on exit" if some users are connected.

On exit (Prompt message)
Use civilized exit?
[checkbox] - Wait while users will complete download.
[checkbox] – Show prompt about connected users on exit.

In Options:
[checkbox] - Civilized exit - Wait while users will complete download.
[checkbox] - Civilized exit – Show prompt about connected users on exit

So "civilized exit"

1. Disconnect from hubs
4. Disallow new connections.
2. Wait while user finishes upload file(s).
3. Disconnect user
5. Exit from DC++
6. Shutdown PC (optional)

P.S. Of course program can wait not only for other users, but for finishing your entire download list too.

An option to keep uploading the current files and then close DC++ similar to the way NMDC does would be nice. Perhaps you should add it to the RFE at http://sf.net/projects/dcplusplus
