Search by hub.

Post by LordAdmiral » 2003-01-13 15:44

When sending out a search query, we should have the option of picking which hub we want to send it to. For example, if I wanted to search the fast hub first (ie. school hub), or, if there are different ideologies with regards to "search spaming" (certain hubs kick users for search spamming, hubs have different timers, etc.)

yes, i need this too. as an operator you need to search for bad files some times, and sending those searches to other hubs where you are unknown can confuse things a bit.. if you see what i mean

Hub Search Is a GREAT IDEA!

Its done in irc as well as in Tesla (Filetopia)
Its fast as hell and alot more friendly
Just add option to search criteria:
1) Search ENTIRE Network
2) Search ONLY Actice Hubs (You Are In)
3) Search THIS Hub
It'd be even better if i could enable my list to options 2 and 3 and NOT to option 1. This being my own preferance and no negative opinion of those liking to use global searches is intended.
I'd just rather force the RIAA to go hub by hub to hunt down anyone.
Of course then they shut down each hub so we need a way to switch ports day by day or something, that members would automatically get and others not; so the hub would be harder to find.
