Tray Icon

Post by Kenneth-Chile » 2003-04-15 03:49

Could you add a Tray Icon Menu with exit option?
In order to close Dc++ quickly that maximize it and then close it.

(Right Button on tray buton-> It shows a menu with EXIT option)

I'm surprised that there's absolutely no context menu when you click on the tray icon. Sounds like a perfectly valid feature request. :)

I'm all for a "Crazy Go Nuts" option.

Not sure what it would do.

Sounds like a good idea here as long as its a changeable option.

Context Menu Features

Post by firestorm » 2003-04-20 10:53

Here Are What I Think Should Be Included in The context Menu,
Not in Any Specific Order

1. Refresh List
2. Pause and Resume Downloads
3. Exit DC++
4. Current Total Download Speed
5. Current Total Upload Speed
6. Open and Close Slots
7. Hide Taybar Icon

It Would Be Nice To see These Fetures in the next version of DC++ :lol:

1. Yes. Nice and needed.
2. I am indiferent with this one, but, not completely disagree.
3. Yes..please!
4. & 5. Are these options? I think it's not necessary, and it exists a speed indicator info when you put the mouse pointer above the tray icon after 1 second.
6. I don't see a good reason for doing here.
7. If you hide the app...how come it back to window? Alt-TAB? Would it be friendly to newbies? Or you mean something different?

My context menu options:

1. Open DC++ (or Maximize Dc++ Window) (bold font)
------(context menu line separator)-------
2. Refresh List
3. Set away/back or only the word 'Away' with a menu context check indicator.
------(context menu line separator)-------
4. Exit DC++

Other options that I'm not sure:

- Share a new folder...
- Pause/Resume all downloads
- What's new in DC++ 0.version

Talk about it for dc++ 0.26 :D
In Theory, there is no difference between Theory and Practice. In Practice, there is.

Add'l features:
1) Favorite hubs: sub menu shows list of favorite hubs to connect
2) Disconnect menu: sub menu shows list of connected hubs
3) Settings (dialog request)

2) Disconnect menu: sub menu shows list of connected hubs
Add a "close tab named <insert name here>" (allows you to remotely close PM's, as well as disconnect from hubs)
Add a maximize DC++ with this tab active (same as clicking the tab, would be similar to clicking the >> at the end of the hublist (assuming you have a lot open there).

Active Tab (main menu)
- Hub 1 (submenu, arrowed off main list)
- PM 1 (reaction is to maximize DC++ with your choice of frames active)
- ...
Close Tab
- Hub 1 (submenu)
- PM 1 (reaction is to close the tab that is chosen)
- ...

Possibly superfluous, but if we'd be adding a disconnect menu, these might be worthwhile to consider.
