ARNE! Wha da heck have you done....

Post by Nev » 2003-01-09 15:30

... because it is great!

Cred goes to the inventor, Opera, but you made it work!

I'm talking about the 'User Menu Items'. It is great. Not only do I get to add silly stuff like lol@%[nick] and so on and so fourth, with the %[line:] you made is so very flexible!

Guess the xKicks is no longer needed. We can do everything we want with user menu items.

Only one thing that I think is wrong; In the HUB / IP (DNS) field;
An empty entry should be equal to 'current hub' and you should add 'all' of which 'op' is a (lonely) subset... That would make it really really useful...

Excellent! ... mjau!

(mod may and should change thread-title later)--> done... partly ~_^ (Iceman[grrrr])

I'm not sure if the string is run through strftime, but that's what's used for datestamps in the other portions of DC++. "man strftime" (even on google) should give you some variables to try. :)

User Menu Items • Examples • Example

Post by Corsari » 2003-04-26 06:01

Hey guys !!!!!!!!!! (Coders I mean)

next time you code a new feature ... :arrow:

:idea: why not write some useful examples :?: :?: :!: :!:

and previously (maybe) write if it does works with scripts only or whateverelse..

So, if any good guys would like to post here some indications and examples ... for both USERs and OPs commands ... it couldbe smart (I think)

:shock: or not!??!?!! :shock:

Bye :wink:

nick != name

Post by GargoyleMT » 2003-04-26 22:17

Well, his nick is arnethduck. That doesn't correlate to his real name, but if you look a bit you can see the mapping for his (and others).

As far as docs are concerned, the two real sources are changelog.txt and the code. If you wan to volunteer to be the official Documenter, I don't think Arnetheduck will complain at all. ;-)

User commands are really great, one little thought:
I can't get them working with PM's. If I write the bot's nick to the PM to field, two things can happen here:
1.: nothing
2.: DC++ quits.

Any ideas?

To seeSharp : if you want to send your user command via PM, it should begin with <*>, * being whatever you want (at least with NMDCHub. In the real world, it would be your nick).
