Blocking myself

Post by Legu » 2004-12-09 15:04

There have been discussion of avoiding low speed users. But i had no luck finding this angle (correct if I'm wrong). There is mods which corrects these problems, but those are pretty much allways out dated. Everybody are looking for solution where have to be somekind of speed calculating system etc. So this is my idea. There should be an option to permanently block some users so I can't download from them, but they can download from me (banning myself). So if I use auto search, I don't have to block them for every new file. It's like extended remove user from queue. I think this option can help in some situation, what do you think..

And how would you handle two users with same nick?

Usually there is not users with same nick at same time (not a lot anyway). Could there be somekind of ban list for each hub you have open, like hub profile? This idea is just one idea. It could be bad or it could be developed. Lets say there is 2 same nicks. Good efforts take allways some casulties ;)

store the user by combined nick + ip, and have a setting for it, if the user uses dynamic ip, one group, if a user has a random nick generator one group, and if your paranoid/lazy add it to the third group, using both nick and ip to avoid downloading from him... from my point of view its a vaste of effort, someone has to use the empty slot, might just as well be me, in the longer run it means i download that much more.. It takes a little longer, so what, get something else simultaniuesly, or go out, play with some friends.. get a hobby *- )
