Would be nice if someone could host a database with fake downloads. And with dc++ contacting the database before download and warn if fake found. Also a right click menu entry for items in finished downloads so you could easily report when you download a fake. Maybee it would be best if the entries in the database had TTH root as mandatory information. Gosh while I'm at it why not add a feature in search window to indicate fakes .... extra column, color indikator .. ?

Yep, I know that one .... but is it doable to use that database in dc++ the way I suggested .... integrated/automated ?

I don't think they'd like that. But it would probably require bandwidth on a hublist.org kind of scale, almost.

Well, yes I agree. Have revised my scheme after feedback here

when i grab fake files off dc they transfer at like 1mb/s when my cap is 300K/s... so i know right away the fake files transfer too fast.
but i see dc++ will have nothing to do with bandwidth limiting so i'm screwed ;\

Well, bandwidth limiting and fake files do not really have anything to do with each other, as I think you know..

Besides, any bandwidth limiting done would be done on the compressed data anyway, so they would stil transfer insanely quickly.
