Remove source mess...

Post by Qba » 2004-11-10 16:09

we download a file (+ we have like 40 other sources for it)
but on "status area" where we can see all the transfer rates, we can see that we download form someone at super speed of 1kb/s
so what we want, is to remove him from our source list...
this problem has beed discussed many times - some ppl want automatic removal if transfer is below some value, others want to have a "ban" feature forbitting our dc++ to download form specific user any file...

but since none of them are implemented yet, maybe it could be possible to make things what we've got now a little more user friendly...

- sort "remove source" alphabeticly in download quete
its often hard to find a slow user in unsorted list of 50 other people

- add "remove this source" in this lower window showing dl progress

this would make dc++ a lot user friendly...

As I've said many times before, multisource downloads would eliminate the need for this and are far more elegant. Kluges like this aren't something we need.

There's probably a more relevant thread for this, infact i saw one maybe 6 months ago, but i don't fancy my chances in finding it again. so i'll post it here.

An idea for dealing with those who you consider to have a slow connection, or you don't want to download off them for whatever reason, is to add them as red. so when you search, when they show up in the search results, the whole line is marked red. so you can distinguish them easily. also red users aren't added automatically for match queue/alternative download locations.
