DC auto search by slots/speed connection

Post by alexkaiserlis52 » 2004-09-24 06:41

I thnk that dc sould search for alternative hubs by open slots or by speed connection that the user could specify wich one(or both).its really annoynig when dc do the auto search because it takes time and if it finaly find someone the connection may be slow.

There is no 'search for alternative hubs'.

If you are reffering to the Connection Type, people could (and do) lie about their connection type. The connection type does not make any difference if the user has a 0.5 Mbit/s broadband or 10 Mbit/s.

You could always click on 'Search for alternatives' and/or 'Search by TTH' (the latter is better, it returns the exact same file) yourself manually by rightclicking on an item.

This is the meat of your feature suggestion, and has been suggested before. The most popular incarnation is to simply remove users with slow speeds as sources for files you're interested in.
